Samsung Galaxy A8s sans 3.5mm Headphone Jack; spotted on FCC
Samsung Galaxy A8s is the first smartphone from Korean giant to arrive sans 3.5mm headphone jack. Galaxy A8s marks the first Samsung smartphone with an Infinity-O display that has a cutout in the upper left corner for the selfie camera, and it was spotted on the US FCC listing with a display hole, as formally teased by Samsung the previous month.
The leaked renders confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy A8s was certified officially by the FCC under the name SM-G8870. Samsung however hasn’t revealed any formal details on the presence or absence of the audio interface on smartphone, but it is speculated that the Galaxy S10 is also likely to follow Galaxy A8s and will come sans a traditional audio jack.
The US FCC website listing also confirmed the presence of a display hole on the Galaxy A8s that bears SM-G8870. The screenshots of the device confirm a hole meant for the frontal camera sensor, which is placed on the top-left corner of the screen, as spotted by GalaxyClub.
In terms of unconfirmed specifications, Samsung Galaxy A8s is likely to sport a 6.39-inch display with a full-HD+ resolution, and will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC coupled with with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB internal storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 512GB). The handset is fueled by a 3,400mAh battery and have a USB Type-C port.
