If for a second we could ignore all the wrong things happening all over the world, we would be able to see the enchanting side of the planet we live in, a side that will instantly make us feel proud of being Earthlings! From diverse flora to exciting fauna, from tall mountain peaks that almost seem to be kissing skies to some of the deepest oceans, mother nature is astonishingly beautiful.

And one of the many beautiful features of nature are the water bodies that attract tourists from world over for their amazingly clear waters. Their blueness is beautiful and calming hands down, and a swim in such amazing waters will make for an ever lasting memory.

1. Maldives

The postcard perfect natural beauty of Maldives has given it the tag of “the tropical paradise”. For those who dream of crystal clear blue waters outlined by white sand beaches, Maldives is one of the best island nations to visit. And why would not it be, after all almost 99% of the country is covered by sea.

And yes, if you have your heart set on the destination then visit soon because averaging just about 1.5 metres above sea level, Maldives is getting submerged under sea at a faster pace and it is alleged that the speed at which the global warming levels are rising, Maldives may go fully under in just about 50 years!

2. Linapacan Island

An island municipality in the province of Palawan, Phillipines, Linapacan is home to several beaches with amazingly clear waters. So clear that in the list of “35 Clearest Waters in the World to Swim in Before You Die”, released by the American news site Daily News Dig in Oct 2013, Linapacan sits on the top position.

3. Cayo Coco

Named after white ibis birds, locally called coco birds, Cayo Coco is an island located in central Cuba. The serene white sand beaches of the island, the clear waters, and many inclusive beautiful resorts, altogether make for a captivating visual treat for eyes and, provide comfort for mind.

4. Cala Macarelleta

If you are living in doubts over what turquoise shade actually is like, Cala Macarelleta in Menorca, Spain, will sort out all your confusions. It is a peaceful cove (small sheltered bay) surrounded by pine trees and holm oaks. It is sheltered and warm, sometimes warm enough for you to conveniently sunbathe even in winter season!

5. Bak Bak Beach

 

Borneo is the world’s third largest island and its northern tip has some of the most scenic beaches, one of which being the Bak Bak beach. The sea water on this beach is super clear and also shallow. So shallow that apparently, you can walk a distance of almost 100 metres into the waters from the shore!

6. Jenny Lake

Located in Grand Teton National Park, in the US state of Wyoming, this lake is almost 12,000 years old and was formed as a result of glaciers flowing down the canyons. Despite being a tourist destination, a 2005 study stated that the water quality of the lake along with other lakes in the national park, is pristine and unaffected by water or air pollution.

7. Lake Tahoe

This large fresh water lake located in the Sierra Nevada, US, is the largest alpine lake (lakes or reservoirs at high altitudes) in North America. Furthermore, it is also the second deepest, and sixth largest by volume, in the US. But what is grabbing as a fact is that this lake was formed as long as 2 million years ago!

But who wants to keep the statistics in mind when the lake also has vividly blue and clear waters, and the panorama of beautiful mountains enclosing it from all sides.

8. Hanauma Bay

Hanauma Bay is a marine bay located along the cost of Island of Oʻahu, Hawaii. Its beauty is so damn grabbing that apparently,  at one time it accommodates over three million visitors per year!! The bay is rich in marine life and boasts clam, clear and shallow waters, thus, giving the tourists a totally awesome and complete sea experience!

9. Koh Phi Phi Don

It is the largest of the Phi Phi islands in Thailand, and is world renowned for the limestone cliffs growing vegetation, and clear waters. Besides the beauty part of it, the island also suffered massive tragedy as it lost over 1,000 people to death, when it was struck by Tsunami on 26 December, 2004.

12. Jiuzhaigou Valley

Jiuzhaigou Valley is a national park in the Sichuan district of China. Its multi-level waterfalls, snow-capped peaks and colourful lakes altogether make it seem like a fairy’s land. Some of its lakes have a high concentration of calcium carbonate and the waters are so clear that often, even the great depths of the lakes are easily visible.
