Bengaluru is not only the IT capital of India but also infamous for potholes.

In what has now become a series of attempts to embarrass the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), Vidhya Shree, a 23-year-old art teacher from Presidency School came up with a unique social awareness campaign.

After a crocodile and anaconda were planted into a pothole few weeks back, people off all ages posed in front of potholes holding ‘No road, No vote’ placard in Rajarajesjwari Nagar.

Frustrated after commuting through these roads for quite some time now, she wanted to do something for the society just before the elections. On one hand the politicians are busy campaigning door to door and on the other hand she had to say this:

“For the last two years no politician has ever bothered to pay heed to the numerous complaints we have made regarding the terrible state of roads in Rajarajeshwarinagar. It is only during the election campaigning that they come and make false promises to woo the voters.”

Although it’s a little late, still her ultimate goal is to spread awareness among the people of Bengaluru and India about their civic rights and stand up against the callous attitude of government officials.

More power to you, Vidhya Shree.
